Kentucky went into Saturday's game at Louisville with a lackluster free throw percentage. Then the Cats missed more free throws than they made against the Cards. It's something that must improve heading into conference play next week.

Against Louisville every player who went to the line missed a shot. Kentucky finised 11-23 , with several misses down the stretch as the Cats tried to dig their way out of a 17 point hole.

The pressure falls heavily on the shoulders of Willie Cauley-Stein, who started the game and played well. But he missed every free throw he took, even when lane violations gave him another chance. After the game Cauley-Stein said he changed his technique, then riverted with the pressure on. "Ya know I've always been a good free throw shooter, right now it's definitely a mental thing and I've just got to find a postive in every negative I've done and figure out how to make it work."

John Calipari is well aware of the pressure on his big freshman. "So you know what Willie's in there doing right now, what do you think he's doing? (free throws) Really, happy new year." Calipari says he told Cauley-Stein he needs to shoot 100-200 a day, then it'll be different.
