Georgetown Wins Second NAIA Title

Led by Monty Wilson’s 23 points, Georgetown College won its second NAIA national title on Tuesday, defeating Southwestern Assemblies of God University, 88-62 in Kansas City.

The Tigers dominated SAGU inside, outscoring the Lions, 50-26 in the paint, and winning the battle of the boards, 61-31.

Wilson, the hero of Monday night’s semifinal game, when he hit the game-winning field goal with :00.4 seconds remaining, finished 9-13 from the field, 3-4 from behind the 3-point line.

Senior Vic Moses finished with 14 points and freshman Deondre McWhorter came off the bench to give the Tigers a lift with 14 points.
