As the school year wraps up in Williamsburg, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) has a lot to be proud of with multiple athletes throughout the season receiving recognition for their hard work and dedication. From All-Conference award winners to Champions of Character, the Patriots have had numerous student-athletes reflect the core values and responsibilities of what the Mid-South Conference (MSC) stands for. Of these fine athletes, two standout scholar-athletes were honored for not only their success on their respective playing surfaces but most importantly, in the classroom. Seniors Cedric Muteshi (Nairobi, Kenya) and McKinzie Price (Somerset, KY) were named the Men and Women's Mid-South Conference Scholar Athletes of the Year, finishing out their careers at UC on the highest of notes.
Patriot soccer sensation Cedric Muteshi, a four-year member of the men's soccer program, is no stranger to success winning several awards throughout his time spent at UC. A team captain for the past two seasons, Muteshi had an immediate impact on the defensive side of the field for the Patriots, being named to the All-Conference first team as a freshman, sophomore, and junior.
